YouTube said on Sunday it had barred Sky News Australia from uploading new content for one week, citing concerns about Covid-19 misinformation.
The move comes after a review of a post uploaded by Rupert Murdoch's TV channel, which is widely available online.
"We have clear and established Covid-19 medical policies to prevent the spread of non-Covid-19 information that could cause real harm to the world," a YouTube statement said.
With 1.86 million YouTube subscribers, the channel - owned by Murdoch's News Corp - has a huge following across Australia.
Postings, including inquiries about whether there was a pandemic and the effectiveness of the vaccine, were widely distributed on social media around the world disseminating non-vaccine information.
YouTube's final upload, from three days ago, includes a manager claiming the closure failed and criticizing state officials for extending Sydney's current home-stay orders.
Sky News confirmed the temporary ban and a spokesman for the department said "we support broader discussions and debates on various topics and perspectives which are essential to any democracy".
